Taiki's Musical Moments

These are Taiki's um... special moments (well, they are special to me!) in the Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon Stars Musical # 1 (Which is the forth musical all together). So far, it's the only musical that I've seen that has the Starlights/Three Lights in it. I must say that I absolutely LOVE SeraMyu (that's the Japanese abbreviation for Sailor Moon musicals). At the moment I have only seen two of them (the SS and Stars musicals) but I really love them. The Stars musical is my favorite so far. Anyway, these "Taiki moments" are in chronological order from the Stars musical. Here we go! (For those who haven't seen the musical, I have tried to summerize it where you might be confused about why something is happening, but I'm not sure how good of a job I've done...

1. The Three Lights sing Chasin' After You. It's a really cool song. Taiki plays the guitar and sings (of course). At this point, I must say that Taiki's actress (Ono Hikari) is very pretty and has a really nice voice (for the other Sera Myu fans out there, Hikari-san was also the actress for Hawk's Eye in the SS musical revision, Neo-Hawk's Eye in the Shin Densetsu Kourin musical and will be playing Hawk's Eye in the newest musical... whooha!).

2. After the song is sung, Haruka and Michiru come out on to the stage (they had played a duet before the Three Lights sang Chasin' After You - Haruka on the piano and Michiru on the violin). As the Three Lights leave Taiki says something to Michiru (I'm not sure what, since I don't speak Japanese and only understand some of it) and blows her a kiss... she's such a flirt, but isn't he a sweetie?

3. Next time we see the Three Lights they are on the roof of the school. At this point Taiki is wearing his glasses... okay, I'll admit now that the glasses don't look that good in any format... anime, manga or real life.

4. While still on the roof the Three Lights hear someone coming, so they hide. Seiya hides behind the door, Taiki behind part of a building and Yaten pretends to be part of a staircase (or a statue?)... yeah... anyway, Taiki says "What are you doing?" and Yaten answers "Hiding. Duh..." At this point Taiki calls Yaten "Baka!" (Neko-chan of gets the thanks for the translation of this scene) and runs out to grab him and drags him behind the building. Hehehe... it really is cute... honest...

5. The person who was coming (that the Lights were hiding from) turns out to be Usagi. After she sings a song (Lonely Distance, in which I believe she is saying how much she misses Mamoru since he went to America) she sees Setsuna. They talk for a while. Then Usagi decides to write a letter to Mamoru (I think) and she looks for something to write on. She sees what she thinks is a statue (it's actually Taiki) and starts using it to write on. After a minute he jumps away from her and makes some little pose... even when he's being stupid he's really cute...

6. After getting Yaten to give her an autograph Usagi is talking to the Three Lights. I'm not sure why (maybe it's just 'cause he likes to...) but Taiki starts reciting a poem. I believe that it is called O Hoshio... it's ever so amusing...

7. The next time we see Taiki is as Sailor Star Maker. Sailor Moon and the rest of the senshi are fighting the Animamates (in the musical the Animamates are: Sailor Pewter Fox, Sailor Iron Mouse, Sailor Titan (Titanium) Croco (Crocodile) and Sailor Tin Nyanko). Right after both sets of senshi do their "Sailor Planet Attack" the Starlights show up and drive the Animamates off. It might seem that the costumes for the Starlights would be scary, but I think that they are done rather well in the musical. It also helps that all the actresses for the Starlights are very thin. (ernk... don't even want to think about fat Starlights... no, no, no... *shudder*)

8. Next is the song Sailor War Supreme. It is a really cool song. This is one of my favorite songs in the musical... the specific Taiki moment that I was thinking of in this song is when everyone is singing (duh!) and the Starlights are up on a balcony typed thing... Star Maker is acting especially dramatic here (right when they sing the line "My love")... you have to see it to understand... any description I attempt will not do it justice.

9. After that we go to the Music Festival. The first act is the inner senshi, sans Usagi. After that it is the Three Lights' turn to sing again. The song this time is called See Me, Boku-tachi no Jidai (See Me, Our Era). This is my favorite song in the musical. It is a really pretty song, and (will wonders never cease) Taiki has a solo this time! These are the two lines of his solo:
"suki sa" to hitokito ieba
Mune ga toki wo kizami
At this time I am also forced to admit (even though these are supposed to be Taiki moments) that Seiya's actress has an awesome voice. Her solos sound wonderful, especially in this song.

10. After the Three Lights are finished singing Boku-tachi no Jidai, it's Usagi's turn to take the stage. Her song is called Knockin' Down Hesitation and, for the first time ever, that I can remember, the Three Lights sing backup. Seiya plays the guitar (hrm... he doesn't play it as well as Taiki... not that Taiki actually plays the guitar, but... oh, nevermind... let's just say that he doesn't pretend to play the guitar as well as Taiki) and Taiki and Yaten sing and um... dance... if you want to call it dancing. They leap around the stage and look incredibly... well, incredibly... um, funny would be a kind way to put it... I about died laughing the first time I watched it. But it really is a cool song. However, I do have one thing to say: Taiki - tall people don't skip... trust me on this.

11. After they Music Festival ends, Galaxia appears and traps all the senshi (including the Starlights, who are still the Three Lights at this time). The senshi are split up and the Lights end up with Uranus and Neptune (who are joined by Mars and Mercury). They transform in front of all four of them and *gasp* we find out that the Three Lights are actually the Starlights! Maker Star Power! Make Up!

12. After this all the senshi (sans Sailor Moon and the Starlights) die and then Sailor Moon is upgraded into Eternal Sailor Moon (the SeraMyu Eternal SM fuku kicks ass!) and does Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss and brings the rest of the senshi back to life. Then the song La Moon (which was originally from the SS musical and is the battle song) is sung. In the middle of this song the Starlights do their attacks... do you have any clue how amusing it is to stop a song so someone can yell "Star Gentle Uterus!"? I love Star Maker...

13. Galaxia isn't exactly defeated (she flies away, to come back for another musical or two...), but after she is gone it's time for the musical's finale song, which in this case is Densetsu Seitan. Of course the Starlights sing along.
